The short answer. Quote makers versus a quote collection
Most quote-maker apps are poster generators: type a line, pick a template, export. They work, and they also produce the same cards everyone else posts, from lines nobody saved. The two sizes
- Pin (2:3). 1080 by 1620 pixels, the tall format Pinterest favors. Text sits comfortably in the middle with room for the author.
- Story (9:16). 1080 by 1920 pixels, full-screen vertical for Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok, and Snapchat. Kandou keeps the text away from the top and bottom bands where those apps put their own controls.

The three styles
- Minimal (free). Kandou’s beige and charcoal palette, Light or Dark. Clean enough to post a series that looks like one series.
- Photo (Pro). Your own picture behind the quote. Pinch to zoom and drag to frame it; the photo always covers the card, and the text band goes at the top, middle, or bottom.
- Bold (Pro). A solid background with a text color you choose, either a category-tinted theme or your own combination from the palette. Loud on purpose.
Fonts (serif, sans, rounded) and text size (small, medium, large) are free in every style, and the exported card carries a small Kandou mark in the corner.
Sharing a quote
In Kandou
- Choose the quote. Tap Share under the quote on the Home tab, or press and hold a quote in Browse and choose Share as Image.
- Pick the size: Pin for Pinterest, Story for Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat.
- Pick the style: Minimal, or Photo and Bold with Pro. Adjust the font and size; the preview updates live and matches the export exactly.
- Share or save. Tap Share to send the image straight to Instagram, Pinterest, Messages, or any app, or choose Save Image to keep it in Photos for later.
- For a series, keep the same style, font, and size across cards. A recognizable look is what makes a quote account feel like a collection rather than a feed.
A workflow for posting from your collection
- Save first, post later. When a line moves you, save it in Kandou with its source. The card can wait until you have a moment; the line cannot.
- Credit the source on the card. Kandou puts the author or source on every image. For a line from a book or a film, that credit is what makes the post worth saving for someone else.
- One card a day beats ten at once. Daily rotation in the app is a good editorial calendar: post the quote of the day.
- Pin and Story from the same quote. Export both sizes and post the Pin to Pinterest and the Story to Instagram. Pinterest pins keep working for months; Stories disappear in a day.
