Kandou can rotate the quote displayed on your Home tab and widget automatically. You can configure rotation independently for each in the Settings tab:

• Off: Always shows the first quote. No rotation.
• Standard: Rotates on a fixed interval (Daily, Every Other Day, or Weekly) at a chosen time of day.
• Personalized: Rotates at up to 4 custom times per day that you set individually.

When it's time to rotate, the next quote in your collection is displayed automatically.

The free version of Kandou includes all core features:

There is no subscription. You pay once and keep everything.

Tap the Share button on the Home tab, or press and hold a quote in the Browse tab and choose "Share as Image." Pick a Pinterest "Pin" (2:3), a "Story" (9:16), or a full-screen "Wallpaper" size, choose a font and size, then share it anywhere or save it to your Photos.

The Minimal style and the wallpaper export are free. Kandou Pro unlocks the Photo style (place a quote over your own photo, pinch to frame it, and set the text on a soft band or as subtitles) and the Bold style (choose your own background and text colors).

Kandou includes a curated library of public-domain quotes so you have something to start with. Everyone gets a free 25-quote Starter collection, and Kandou Pro unlocks three themed collections, Stoic Wisdom, Motivation, and Love, for 100+ quotes in total. Open the Library tab, browse a collection, and tap to add any quote to your own.

The curated quotes are in English for now. Localized collections may come in a future update.

If you purchased Kandou Pro and it's not showing as unlocked (for example, after reinstalling the app or getting a new phone):

1. Open Kandou and go to the Settings tab
2. Look for the Kandou Pro section
3. Tap Restore Purchases

Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase. If the restore doesn't work, please contact us using the form below.

Press and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Kandou. Swipe to the Large size, or to Extra Large on iOS 27, and tap Add Widget.

The medium, large, and extra-large widgets come with Kandou Pro; on Kandou Free they show an Upgrade to Pro message. To style them, open the Settings tab, set Display to Widget, and under Appearance tap Photo & Text. The preview lets you check each size before you save.

If your widget isn't showing the latest quote, try these steps:

1. Open the Kandou app, this triggers a widget refresh
2. Check that you have at least one saved quote (the widget needs content to display)
3. Verify your rotation schedule in Settings. If rotation is set to "Off," the widget will always show the same quote
4. Try removing and re-adding the widget to your Home Screen

Note: iOS controls how often widgets refresh. There may be a short delay between the rotation time and the widget updating.

Yes. Since version 1.3, Kandou syncs your quotes and categories through iCloud, free for everyone. There is nothing to turn on: when your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, your collection is kept in your private iCloud and appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

You can check the status in the Settings tab, under Your Data, in the iCloud Sync row. Rotation schedules and widget setup stay on each device.

Your quotes stay private: they live in your own iCloud account, and we cannot see them. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Sign in to iCloud on the new iPhone with the same Apple Account and install Kandou. Your collection downloads on its own, usually a few seconds after you open the app.

Setting up the new iPhone with Quick Start or from an iCloud Backup also brings your quotes along. And if you prefer a file, export a backup on the old iPhone and import it on the new one, as described in the next question.

To bring back Kandou Pro, tap Restore Purchases in the Settings tab.

Open the Settings tab and look for Your Data:

• Export Backup: saves your whole collection as a file you can import on any iPhone.
• Export as Text: saves a readable archive of every quote, grouped by category, that opens in any text or notes app.
• Import Backup: brings a backup file into Kandou. It shows what will be added first, only adds what is missing, and never deletes anything.

Exports use the standard iOS share sheet, so you can save the file to Files, send it with AirDrop, or email it to yourself. Exporting and importing are free for everyone.

Kandou Free holds up to 15 quotes of your own. When a backup has more than fit, Kandou imports the oldest ones first and tells you how many were left out. Nothing is lost: the quotes stay in the backup file, and importing it again after unlocking Kandou Pro brings in the rest.

Quotes from the Stoic Wisdom, Motivation, and Love collections are restored only with Kandou Pro. Quotes you already have are skipped, so importing the same file twice never creates duplicates.

Your two collections are combined, and nothing is deleted on either iPhone. Categories with the same name are merged into one, and the built-in quotes appear only once. If you saved the same quote on both iPhones, it appears twice and you can delete the extra copy.

On Kandou Free, a combined collection can end up above 15 quotes of your own. Kandou keeps all of them. You just can't add new ones until you are back under the limit or unlock Kandou Pro.

Open the Settings tab in Kandou and read the iCloud Sync row under Your Data:

• It asks you to sign in to iCloud: open iOS Settings and sign in with your Apple Account. Until then, your quotes live only on this iPhone.
• iCloud storage is full: sync pauses until you free up space or get more iCloud storage. Your quotes stay safe on your iPhone in the meantime.
• iCloud is restricted: Screen Time or a device management profile is blocking iCloud on this iPhone.

Changes can take a moment to reach another device. Opening Kandou on both devices, with an internet connection, usually brings them up to date.

One thing to know: signing out of iCloud can remove the synced quotes from that iPhone until you sign back in. If you plan to sign out, export a backup first.
