How does quote rotation work?

Kandou can rotate the quote displayed on your Home tab and widget automatically. You can configure rotation independently for each in the Settings tab:

  • Off: Always shows the first quote. No rotation.
  • Standard: Rotates on a fixed interval (Daily, Every Other Day, or Weekly) at a chosen time of day.
  • Personalized: Rotates at up to 4 custom times per day that you set individually.

When it's time to rotate, the next quote in your collection is displayed automatically.

What's the difference between Free and Kandou Pro?

The free version of Kandou includes all core features:

  • Save up to 15 quotes with categories, colors, and icons
  • Scheduled quote rotation (all modes)
  • Small Home Screen widget
  • Search across your collection

Kandou Pro ($4.99, one-time purchase) unlocks:

  • Unlimited quotes
  • Medium Home Screen widget with full quote details
  • All future features, forever

There is no subscription. You pay once and keep everything.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you purchased Kandou Pro and it's not showing as unlocked (for example, after reinstalling the app or getting a new phone):

  1. Open Kandou and go to the Settings tab
  2. Look for the Kandou Pro section
  3. Tap Restore Purchases

Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase. If the restore doesn't work, please contact us using the form below.

Why isn't my widget updating?

If your widget isn't showing the latest quote, try these steps:

  1. Open the Kandou app, this triggers a widget refresh
  2. Check that you have at least one saved quote (the widget needs content to display)
  3. Verify your rotation schedule in Settings. If rotation is set to "Off," the widget will always show the same quote
  4. Try removing and re-adding the widget to your Home Screen

Note: iOS controls how often widgets refresh. There may be a short delay between the rotation time and the widget updating.

Can I sync my quotes across devices?

Kandou currently stores all data locally on your iPhone. There is no cloud sync or backup feature at this time.

This means if you delete the app, your quotes will be removed from your device. We recommend keeping the app installed to preserve your collection.

Cloud sync may be considered for a future update.

Can I get a refund?

In-App Purchases are handled by Apple. If you'd like to request a refund for Kandou Pro, you can do so through Apple's Report a Problem page.
