Kandou is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your quotes, categories, and personal reflections belong to you, not to us or any third party. This privacy policy explains how Kandou handles your information, and the short version is: your data never leaves your device.

What Data We Collect

Data We Don't Collect

Kandou does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any server. Specifically, we never access:

• Your quotes, categories, or any content you create in the app
• Your name, email address, or other personal identifiers
• Your location data
• Your device contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or other files
• Analytics, usage tracking, or advertising information

Data Stored Locally

All data you create in Kandou, including quotes, categories, rotation settings, and preferences, is stored locally on your iPhone. This data never leaves your device. There is no cloud sync, no account creation, and no data transmitted to external servers.

Home Screen Widget

Kandou's Home Screen widget displays your quotes directly on your iPhone's Home Screen. Widget data is shared between the app and the widget extension using an App Group container, which is a secure, on-device mechanism provided by Apple. This data sharing happens entirely on your device and does not involve any network activity.

In-App Purchases

Kandou offers an optional one-time In-App Purchase (Kandou Pro) through Apple's App Store. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple using their StoreKit framework:

• We do not process, store, or have access to your payment information
• All billing is handled by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Purchase status is stored locally on your device

The only network activity in Kandou is the StoreKit purchase flow, which is handled entirely by Apple's system frameworks.

Contact & Support Requests

If you contact us through our website's support form or via email, we collect:

• Your name (as provided)
• Your email address (to respond to your inquiry)
• The content of your message

This information is used solely to respond to your support request. We do not use this information for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties. Support correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.

Third-Party Services

Kandou does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app uses only Apple's first-party frameworks: SwiftUI, SwiftData, WidgetKit, and StoreKit 2.

The App Store may collect anonymous analytics about app downloads and crashes, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of sharing this data with developers in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children's Privacy

Kandou is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect personal data from any users, it is safe for use by people of all ages.

Data Security

Your data security is protected by Apple's platform security features. Data stored on your device is protected by your device's passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. The app does not use non-exempt encryption. We recommend keeping your device updated to the latest iOS version for the best security.

Your Rights & Data Control

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it:

• Access: All your data is visible directly in the app
• Deletion: You can delete any quote or category at any time within the app
• Complete removal: Uninstalling the app removes all Kandou data from your device
• No server-side data: There is no data stored on our servers to request or delete

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
